Elizabeth Reeves: Features and Focal Points in Gardens

Elizabeth is a qualified horticulturalist with over thirty years experience in the UK, France and Germany. Having previously heard Elizabeth speak to the society, we look forward to hearing her talk on the subject of how to visually improve gardens - small and large.

May 26th

Professor Jan Pentreath: Snapshots of Cornish Maritime History

Jan is a renowned British marine scientist with many citations to his name, he is an excellent speaker and his well researched talks are fascinating ~ not to be missed!

June 23rd

RHS Rosemoor Outing

A coach trip to the 65acre RHS Rosemoor garden has been arranged, the coach departs Harcourt at 8.30am and also picks up from 'Top of the Village', Four Turnings and Playing Place. The cost is £5 for the coach. There is also a guided tour charged at £4 per head which must be pre-booked through the society. There are several tea rooms and a restaurant on site, also plenty of benches so you can take your own picnic... the sun will be shining!

September 29th

Ron Scamp: Daffodils

Ron is an RHS award winning expert in growing daffodils, he has introduced many new varieties, you will see many of them in his slide show. Ron will also bring bulbs for you to purchase.

October 27th

Paul Gainey: The Good, The Bad, The Pretty and The Downright Obscene 

Dr Paul Gainey's degree was in Biochemistry but his passion is natural history and he is an acknowledged expert in marine organisms, flowering plants of the British Isles, mosses, ferns, algae and a host of other groups. Paul is a knowledgeable and entertaining speaker, he will enthrall us with his talk on a photographic journey through the flora and fauna which share the environment we are privileged to live in.

Tea and coffee or a glass of wine available as usual. We are unable to sell wine but membership enables you to

have a glass each meeting. Annual membership £5 only this year.
